The Ayer brand was inspired by Elizabeth Ayer, a pioneer in Seattle's history who became the first registered woman architect in Seattle and the State of Washington.
Elizabeth Ayer paved the way for women in her field to succeed. She was a strong, passionate figure with a constant determination to excel, despite the odds stacked against her.
Elizabeth Ayer's strength is a beautiful compliment to the straight lines and edges from the project's architecture and Susan Marinello's interior design.

The Ayer's social media accounts include important brand elements such as the patterns, color palette, and brand voice.
All print media features the logo and highlights Susan Marinello's interior design.
logo design
The interior design features a variety of textures, especially those found in nature. In order to best compliment the complex textures and patterns, the logo design is kept minimal with wide tracking between the letters. This allows it to be used as an overlay on materials such as stone and increases legibility from a distance.
color palette
The Ayer color palette utilizes colors from actual materials found in the Seattle region, including igneous rock and the western red cedar.
